Bodansky makes clear the specific quality that Bin Laden possesses that has allowed him to become a terrorist leader. However, he is less convincing as he attempts to explain why people Bin Laden, his followers, you or I would come to think about murder in such a celebratory way. Terrorism is indeed terrible, and to make it seem normal to people requires substantial social, cultural, and psychological pressures and a charismatic leader. This book explains this last of the four conditions, but fails to explain the first three.
