Sojourner Truth believed in the law and used to courts in unheralded ways to fight for her rights and the rights of women and slaves everywhere. She fought to regain the rights to her son, she took a case against a white couple and then she took a further case against another abuser. She believed strongly in women's rights and was one of the first 'feminists' in recorded history.
