This paper deals with the culture of reproduction and reproductive physiology. Premenstrual syndrome, post-partum depression and the practice of female circumcision or clitirodectomy are all considered. This paper concludes that women's bodies and experiences, particularly in the realm of reproductive physiology have been appropriated by medical paradigms. Practices vary from period to period and culture to culture but appropriation of female bodies as objects for "subject to alteration, maiming, mutilation and control" according to Mari Rodin. 2 pgs no bibliography.
