This paper briefly examines five cases of women in Greek mythology. Each one is examined in a figurative sense to see what kind of conclusions can be drawn about the perception of women in ancient Greek society. Ultimately, it would seem that while the ancient Greeks saw women as desirable, they also imagined that woman were deceitful and cruel and the source of all the world's evil.
