Understanding the Deterrence and Spiral Models of International Relations Through Comparison and Contrast
This paper is a short discussion of the spiral model of international relations and the deterrence model of international relations. The paper briefly attempts to qualify the basic overviews of each theory, arguing ultimately for the greater usefulness of the spiral model. The spiral model argues that threats of military action only reinforce existing conflict problems.
