Craton Tectonics, Stress and Seismicity: The North American Cordillera.
This paper examines craton tectonics, stress and seismicity with reference to the North American Cordillera. It consists of a survey of existing literature into the tectonic activity on the boundary of the North American Craton and the North American Cordillera. It identifies the type and nature of seismic activity and the tectonic action--principally accreditation of terranes--that underlies this seismic activity. Therefore, it focuses on terranes in the accretitionary process on the fringes of cratons, with the emphasis on the situation on Canada's Pacific coast. 9 pgs. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
