Impoverished Opportunity: The Cycle of Poverty in Fernando Meirelles City of God
Within this review, I analyze the relationship between L'il Ze and Rocket in order to demonstrate how it reflects the hopeless situation of individuals growing up in the slums of Rio De Janeiro. I use the runaway chicken from the opening moments of the film as a symbol uniting L'il Ze and Rockets efforts to find some kind of a life within the City of God. The course material that I refer to in this essay is from the lecture on September 16th. You may want to check the bibliography to ensure that I have cited your courses' textbook correctly; without a copy of the textbook, it was difficult to cite it correctly.
