This paper examines the war on drugs. It begins by examining the origins of the war and its goals. It then assesses its consequences and 'success'. It concludes that the war on drugs is counterproductive as prohibition of alcohol was under the Volstead Act. It advocates other interventions to reduce drug addiction and its impacts. 4 pgs.
