Examining Globalization: A Review of Jagdish Bagwati's "In Defence of Globalization"
Within this paper, I present a two page summary of the themes from "In Defense of Globalization" before examining some of the problems with the text. I applaud Bhagwati's sophisticated analysis of globalization while condemning the means by which he presents his argument. I conclude that his argument would be stronger if his examples more consistently matched the conclusions he tries to demonstrate. I also suggest that his novel is an artistic representation of globalization. The research I have included consists of prominent critical theorists such as Fredric Jameson and Slavoj Zizek, among other texts.
