This paper will describe in detail the issues that are presented in John Taylor's novel "East Timor: The Price of Freedom." This novel addresses the invasion of East Timor by Indonesia the subsequent bloodshed that took place across the region during the mid-1970s. It is only recently that the region experienced a form of democracy that they had never witnessed before, and this had led to improvements across the area.
