The thesis of this paper is to integrate the past with the present and thus make way for the future, Toni Morrison creates a tale in Beloved that suggests to the reader that only through self analysis will they be able to reconcile with their past. The novel is presented as a series of fragmented tales that force the reader to analyze the events and thus accept each fragment as a part of the whole.
